Mosquito Systems FAQs

No Bugs LA Outdoor Living Mosquito Control Misting System in Bossier City, LAWe offer the following as a general reference about mosquito systems, but please don’t hesitate to contact us! We’ll be glad to answer your questions, discuss your needs, and help you determine the best methods to help protect you and your family against annoying and harmful outdoor insects.

  • Do I need a Mosquito System, or would a Backyard Mosquito Treatment work for me?

That can only be determined by scheduling a free consultation. We will determine which mosquito control solution matches with your lifestyle, environment, and budget.

  • Pyrethrum vs. Pyrethrin vs. Pyrethroid

Pyrethrum is a natural extract made from the Chrysanthemum plant seeds.
Pyrethrins are the six insecticidally active compounds found in pyrethrum.
Pyrethroids are synthetic versions of pyrethrin that are more durable and potent.

  • How much do misting systems cost?

The typical misting system for protecting a normal backyard is around $2,500 – $3,000. However, we can help you develop a mosquito control program that can cut that initial cost almost in half and also reduce the ongoing maintenance cost.

  • What type of insecticides does No Bugs LA use?

We offer water-based insecticides such as Sector and Riptide. We also offer a natural misting concentrate if desired. Please visit our page Insecticides: Mist Systems for more information and links to the manufacturer’s page. If you have a specific insecticide request, we can most definitely get it for you.

  • How long will it take to install the mosquito system?

There are many variables that determine the length of time needed to install a system. A typical system can be installed in 4-8 hours; however more complex systems can take several days.

  • How often will the mosquito misting system need a refill?

That will depend upon the number of nozzles, the number of misting cycles per day, the length of each misting cycle, and the reservoir size. Most misting systems last for several months before needing to be refilled.

  • When a mosquito system finishes its mist cycle, how long should I wait before I go outside?

Even though the misting concentrates we use aren’t dangerous for you or your pets, it is still best to be cautious and avoid direct contact when mosquito systems are misting. Generally speaking, you may resume outside activities within a few minutes.
